Q: How to Create a New Inventory In Transaction?

A: From the Inventory Logbook, click on New Inventory In link or button from Transaction History page. In this page you can receive inventory of one or many items with the same reference number. Select reference date, reference number, and vendor. To add a new vendor, click here to learn more. Now you can start to enter the drug products received by either searching by Drug Name or NDC code. If the drug product is not showing, you must first add it before it is searchable in your product database.

After selecting the drug product, you will see a summary table of drug details. Below this table, enter the number of packs you received. The total quantity in units is automatically calculated based on the package size entered when you created the drug in your catalog. Next you can enter the acquisition cost. By entering this optional information, you will be able to match the total monetary amount received from an invoice. The acquisition unit cost, extended cost and new quantity on hand are automatically calculated.

If you have lot tracking enabled, you must enter lot details of the product you are receiving. You can add a new lot or add to an existing active lot. All lots must be current in date to show up in your drug list. The lot total value and total quantity received amount must match. The total remaining value must be zero before you can add this drug to your summary table. Furthermore, you can add any comments you have about this drug.

You can continue to add multiple drugs, but when you finished, be sure to click save at the bottom of the page.
